Game Description

The Tower of Time is collapsing, and you, the Chrono Runner, must ascend before time itself unravels. As you climb higher, the lower tower grows increasingly unstable, with sections crumbling into the void.

Yet, the tower does not surrender its secrets so easily. It is protected by clever traps and dangerous minions—deadly sentries patrol the corridors.

To survive, you must stay ahead of the decay, using all your skill to avoid the traps and sentries. Your reflexes will be tested to their limit.

Summary

Overall, this was a fun experience but sometimes frustrating. There was a bit of a learning curve using the Genies SDK and I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out why simple things didn't seem to work. Even seemingly trivial changes would break existing functionality (often completely unrelated) which would require me to revert my changes and try again. This resulted in me not getting nearly as much content into the game as I'd hoped. 

Planned content that didn't make it in:

  • Greater variety of hazards and enemies
  • Variety of platforms/levels
  • Combat mechanics (as opposed to simply avoiding enemies)
  • Power-ups (e.g. slow time / speed boost / temporary invulnerability)
  • Optimizations
